Amrut Assists Community After Western Cape Storms

Between the 6th and 9th of April 2024, Western Cape was struck by a severe storm, causing significant damage, especially to the structural integrity of informal settlements. In the aftermath of this natural disaster, an Amrut-funded project, in a collaborative effort with BAPS Charities, took swift action to provide aid to those affected. The joint initiative successfully packed and distributed 100 food hampers to a community in Strand, where the storm had inflicted considerable hardship.

The distribution was conducted with the support of local government authorities, ensuring that the aid reached the right hands. The residents of the community, while still recovering from the storm’s impact, expressed their gratitude for the timely assistance. In response to this outpouring of appreciation, Amrut extended its thanks to BAPS Charities for their invaluable partnership and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing this alliance, aiming to support and uplift those in need during such critical times. The Amrut team especially commended BAPS Charities for its swift action in involving young volunteers in the packing and distribution effort.
