Amrut Brings Christmas Cheer To Hospital and Care Centres

In its aim to enhance the festive season for those most deserving of love and support, Amrut delivered gift hampers to children bravely fighting cancer and undergoing treatment at Steve Biko Academic Hospital (SBAH). This meaningful project was carried out in collaboration with Rainbows and Smiles NPO, an organization that does exceptional work in oncology wards across various hospitals in Gauteng and throughout the country. Amrut aimed to transcend mere material gifts by including carefully curated memory making kits within each gift hamper.

These kits allowed parents and children to engage in creative activities together, transforming their time at the hospital into cherished memories. Whether it was crafting, storytelling, or simply spending quality time, these kits aimed to improve the overall experience for families facing the struggle of their young children together. The nursing staff at SBAH expressed their appreciation for the thoughtful gesture and mentioned that the hampers were not just practical but also emotionally uplifting.
The inclusion of memory-making elements demonstrated a deep understanding of the children’s needs and the desire to enhance their hospital environment.

Amrut’s gifting extended beyond Steve Biko Hospital with two long-standing educational partners also receiving hampers.
Recipients Children of Light Educare in Cape Town and Ukukhanya Program at the Tshimangadzo Care Centre (TCC) In Johannesburg, have been beacons of hope for children’s education and holistic wellbeing. Welcomed with gratitude, these gifts not only brightened the children’s days but also emphasized the importance of community support.

The TCC event took on an extra layer of joy. Amrut key donor ETG hosted a lively party, infusing the Home’s corridors with laughter and celebration with Santa Claus making a surprise appearance to the great delight of children and adults alike. The children’s faces lit up as they interacted with Santa, creating memories that would last far beyond their time at TCC.

Amrut’s thoughtfulness didn’t go unnoticed. Trustees from both Children of Light Educare and the TCC praised the hampers’ thoughtful design. From the personalised t-shirts to the carefully crafted lampshades, every detail reflected Amrut’s dedication to bringing joy to young faces that deserve every second of happiness.
