Borehole Handover and 2nd Birthday Celebrations in Mzinyathi, KwaZulu-Natal

In August 2023, the Amrut Foundation marked its 2nd anniversary in Mzinyathi, KwaZulu-Natal, with a simple yet impactful celebration. The event was attended by traditional leaders, local elders, children, religious leaders representing various faiths
and members of the Mzinyathi community who Amrut had previously assisted during the floods of 2022.

Whilst a hearty meal and healthy servings of cake brought much joy to the occasion, the highlight of the day was the handover of a borehole that now provides clean, free water to the community. This initiative was a direct response to the persistent water
issues that had plagued the area since the devastating floods of 2022. The Amrut Foundation has maintained a steadfast presence in Mzinyathi since the floods, actively working in collaboration with community workers, traditional leaders, and elders to address the community’s ongoing needs. The borehole project is just one example of the Foundation’s long-term commitment to improving the lives of the people in Mzinyathi.

By continuing to work hand in hand with local leaders and the community, the Foundation aims to achieve even more positive change in the future.
