On Mandela Day 2023, the Amrut Foundation joined forces with Rainbows and Smiles, a community-based charitable foundation established in 2009. Rainbows and Smiles is dedicated to offering emotional, social, and financial support to children grappling with cancer or life-threatening illnesses, along with their families and caregivers.
Members from both Amrut and Rainbows and Smiles, alongside the dedicated nurses of various hospitals around Johannesburg, distributed 167 garnished cupcakes to children bravely battling cancer. The impact of this small gesture, reflected in the smiles it brought to the children’s faces, was a heartening sight. Parents, doctors and nurses who were also treated to garnished cupcakes,
appreciated the small gesture on the part of Amrut.
Taking a pause from the cupcake distribution, the Amrut team took a moment to understand and appreciate the ongoing initiatives of Rainbows and Smiles, particularly in the realm of palliative care for children. Both teams affirmed their commitment to future collaborations, aiming to continue bringing joy and warmth to children facing challenges that outweigh their age.
