Amrut Foundation Deepens Partnership With Turfhall Cheshire Home

Cape Town recently played host to a team from the Amrut Foundation, who embarked on a visit to key partners in the Western Cape. The Foundation’s representatives commenced their journey at The Cheshire Turfhall home for the disabled, located in Athlone. In celebrating the tenacity of the residents despite insurmountable physical difficulty, a delectable meal was served, creating a memorable for the residents, staff and members of Amrut alike.

During their visit, the Amrut team also took the opportunity to inspect the ongoing renovation work being carried out by the foundation at the Turfhall home. The management of the Home took the opportunity to discuss future collaboration ideas with the foundation, highlighting their vision for further initiatives.

In recognition of the remarkable care provided by the dedicated staff and caregivers at the Turfhall home, Amrut Foundation extended their gratitude by presenting them with tote bags from the Sar- Re range, exclusively crafted by Khuphuka. This sewing center and training facility, located in Bertrams, was initially supported by seed funding from the Amrut Foundation and is overseen by the management of Tshimangadzo Care Center. The Sar-Re range, known for its unique upcycling approach, breathes new life into saris that possess both aesthetic value and remain in good condition.

In parting, the management of Turfhall presented Amrut with a certificate of appreciation and extended their sincere gratitude for the Foundation’s contribution. Amrut in turn thanked the management for their selfless service and promised further efforts to enhance the lives of residents at the Home.
